This privacy policy describes how the app Stoke (hereinafter "we", "us", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our service for surf forecasts and session tracking.
Stoke requests access to your device's location in order to:
Location data is only used while the app is in use, unless you explicitly allow background updates for tracking surf sessions.
We use Firebase/Supabase for authentication. We store your email address and your user ID to synchronize your favorite spots and surf logs across devices.
With your permission, Stoke uses your camera and photo library so that you can add photos to spot reports. Photos you choose to upload are shown to other users as part of the community reports for that spot.
On Android, and only with your explicit permission, Stoke can read the following data from Android Health Connect so that your workouts can be shown alongside your surf sessions:
This data is used solely to display your own activity within your personal surf log. We do not use Health Connect data for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell or share it with third parties. You can grant or revoke this access at any time in Android Health Connect; revoking it does not affect the rest of the app.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Data is only shared with service providers (such as Firebase or Apple) to the extent necessary to provide the app's functionality.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time directly in the app's settings or by contacting us at the email address below. When you initiate account deletion from the app, all your profile data, stored spots, and logs are permanently removed from our databases.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access or loss.
